Vase and cover of pale blue jasperware, with white cameo decoration. Round the middle are figures of Apollo and the nine Muses. Amphora-shaped with square plinth decorated with anthemion ornament. The shoulder is gadrooned, and the neck and foot are decorated with white beads; below the figures is a row of musical instruments. The dome-shaped cover with finial formed as Pegasus is decorated with acanthus foliage.

Jasperware vase and cover with Pegasus finial and with reliefs of Apollo and the Muses, made at the factory of Josiah Wedgwood, Etruria, Staffordshire, ca. 1790
Physical description
Vase and cover of pale blue jasperware, with white cameo decoration. Round the middle are figures of Apollo and the nine Muses. Amphora-shaped with square plinth decorated with anthemion ornament. The shoulder is gadrooned, and the neck and foot are decorated with white beads; below the figures is a row of musical instruments.
