Histoire De Tripes Volume 005 (HTV005)
Heart-shaped sculpture, formed from plastic tubing, wire mesh and sabra (vegetal silk) yarn. Ghizlane Sahli employs the traditional materials and techniques used to make passementerie (decorative elements) on Moroccan caftans. The veins and arteries are made using the technique normally employed on caftans for the trims around necks, wrists and the join down the front of the caftan; the main part of the heart is formed from small pieces of plastic tubing which are encircled in silk yarn using the same technique to make buttonholes.
