Misc.536:1-1990
Pre-formed constructional kits, in plastic, were developed
throughout the 1950s by companies in the U.S.A. and
Britain. The kits were made to scale, in this case ¼ inch
to 1 foot. American companies issued cars, boats and
military equipment as well as planes. These models were
one of many routes by which a romanticised picture of
life in the U.S.A. permeated the British subconscious.
