Plastic building blocks contained in original blue cardboard box with a printed coloured label on the lid showing title, maker's name and five constructions. There is also a printed paper book of designs which bears numerous round ink stamps, one of which is dated 1946.

Each brick is five-sided, hollow inside with strengthening bars and cross bars. They are moulded plastic, in white, red, blue, black and green. Each is moulded with the manufacturer's name and an individual number.

Chad Valley produced a wide range of educational toys in plastic as well as wood from the 1930s onwards. The bricks are like those originally produced in wood, similar in style to their 19th-century counterparts; only the material is different.
