The word ‘MIZPAH’ (Hebrew for ‘watchtower’) symbolised love between those separated. It comes from the Old Testament account of an agreement between Laban and Jacob: ‘The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent from one another’.

Horse shoe shaped nine carat. gold brooch with applied lettering "MIZPAH" and engraved "The Lord watch between thee and me when we are absent one from another." Above three bells hang from a rope and at the top a wreath of ivy with a flower.
