Artist/Maker
Place of origin

'Le Seuil' ('The Threshold'), comes from Gerald Vatrin's increasing interest in African decorative arts, where he has spent much time travelling. His work from 2008 has reflected such influences, particularly from the culture in Mali. 'Le Seuil', created in 2018, is one of his most recent experiments in mixed media, using braided leather to accentuate the hollow interiors of hand-blown glass shapes, creating a visual and tactile experience.
