Claire Van Vliet (born 1933)
Claire Van Vliet's Janus Press was one of the earliest printmaker-led artists'-book presses and continues to publish after more than 60 years. This book contains loose sheets of paper and acetate cut in the shapes of landscape elements. They allow the reader to create a visual syntax of their own by combining the shapes to create numerous landscape views suggesting different seasons and times of the day.
