WARP: white wool; Z2S; 18 threads per inch (70 per dm) depressed.

WEFT: white wool and light red wool; Z2S; 2 sometimes 3 shoots of weft after each row of knots, apparently one of each colour; 9 knots per inch (34 per dm).

PILE: wool; 12 colours: dark red, red, yellow, dark green, green, dark blue, blue, light blue, pink, purple, dark brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 warp threads; 81 knots to the sq. inch (1190 per sq. dm).

SIDE FINISH: Lower: warp loops around a stout cord above which they are grouped into sixes; there are 2 rows of weft wrapping in red with one row of weft twining in brown/white and 2 rows of weft wrapping in red. Upper: 2 rows of weft wrapping in red and one row of weft twining in dark brown/white and two rows of weft wrapping in red. There is a woven edge finish in which the warp threads are one by one turned through a right angle, and acting as weft, are woven into the neighbouring warp threads. The loose ends form a short fringe running back along the carpet. (See Collingwood).

DESIGN: Field: dark blue ground with multi-coloured Herati design. There is one row of diamonds which are red with flowers in a variety of colours. The curling leaves are also in a variety of colours but are paired.

Main border: red ground with meandering design with pairs of botehs lying across a full-width dark red boteh; there are cypress trees between.

Inner and outer border: white ground with floral meander with pink blossoms.
