Berry began his photojournalism career in South Africa. He made this photograph of people sheltering during a dust storm in Lesotho (then Basutoland), a country located inside the borders of South Africa. The car gleams through the dense haze, apparently impervious to the elements as well as the politics being debated inside the legislative building in the background.
