Decoration: 6- to 2-line monochrome initials in red or blue, with contrasting blue or red penwork flourishing. Blue and red running titles, chapter numbers and 1-line initials.

Binding: 18th century, England. Cross-grained brown morocco, simple frame of gold-tooled fillet on boards; five raised bands on spine, labels with lettering in gold.
