Object history
Part of the Jobbing Printing collection. The Jobbing Printing collection was assembled by Philip James (1901-1974), Keeper of the V&A’s art Library, now known as the National Art Library, between 1936-1939. James wrote to significant designers and progressive businesses in Britain, Europe and the USA to request examples of their publicity material with the aim of creating an 'open reference collection of commercial typography' so that the 'trend of typographic design, both in this country and abroad, could be estimated by students of industrial art.'
