Diptych, silver, silver gilt and translucent enamel. Each rectangular frame with beaded edge and pointed gable surmounted by a cusped fleuron, joined by integral hinges. The inner frame engraved and enamelled with a scene of St Michael (left) and St John the Baptist (right); the two outer hinged flaps enamelled with a scene of the Resurrection (left) and the Nativity (right).

Silver and partially gilded diptych altarpiece with scenes of the Nativity, the Resurrection, St John the Baptist and St Michael in translucent enamel. England or South Netherlands, 1300-1400.
Physical description
Diptych, silver, silver gilt and translucent enamel. Each rectangular frame with beaded edge and pointed gable surmounted by a cusped fleuron, joined by integral hinges. The inner frame engraved and enamelled with a scene of St Michael (left) and St John the Baptist (right); the two outer hinged flaps enamelled with a scene of the Resurrection (left) and the Nativity (right).
