CHAIR: PARIS
Designed by André Dubreuil (French, born 1951)
Made by André Dubreuil and Dubreuil Decorative Arts, London, Great Britain, 1988
Waxed sheet steel with acetylene torch decoration
Given by the designer
W.8-1989

Dubreuil's furniture is deliberately ornamental in character, in response to what the designer perceived as the 'minimal and boring' character of most modern furniture. No two 'Paris' chairs are alike, each one being made to order and individually decorated with the flame of an acetylene torch.
