Place of origin

A large square wooden cabinet with sycamore veneer. The top is hinged along both sides with a division in the centre. Half of the lid has a horizontal chromium loop hand at the front. The base of the cabinet is slightly recessed with a broad band of black linoleum on all four sides. On the bottom front, in the centre, is a large circular loudspeaker aperture with a deep chromium band set into its edge. Behind this is a pale brown fabric loudspeaker covering. Immediately above this aperture, in the centre, is a small black plastic control knob with a knotched edge and above this should be another similar control knob, now missing. The back of the cabinet has, at its base, two large horizontal cut-away sections, one above the other, covered from behind with a greenish fabric.
