'OBERON' GARDEN SEAT Designed by H.W. Wood M.B.E. Made by Lurashell, part of Wood Bros (Furniture) Ltd, Ware Fibreglass 1964 Lurashell, a division of Wood Brothers, makers of 'Old Chard' furniture, made upholstered furniture with fibreglass frames from about 1958. This was the first single piece moulded fibreglass design produced by the company. In 1966 the seat retailed at £30 9s 9d. Given by Wood Bros W.13-1994(1994-2006)

In 1966 the seat retailed at £30 9s 9d.

The company made about 100 of the Oberon seat, which was tested at Clapham Common and Ware Swimming Pool.
Historical context
In 1960 Lurashell produced a range of upholstered fibreglass furniture for the s.s. Canberra which remained on the ship until it was commission for military use in the Falklands War in 1982.
