[Mary Quant Exhibition, 2019] ‘ALEXANDER STRIPE’ DRESS 1960 Worn by Carola Zogolovitch Carola Zogolovitch was 18 when her parents bought her this pinafore dress as a present. She recalls the King’s Road Bazaar was, ‘by far the most stylish shop in London. The Road at this time was the hangoutfor a rather louche circle of late-teenage and early-20s people. Quite a few were Trustafarians with no need to work, some were escaping their roots, re-inventing themselves by changing their names and becoming movers and shakers within the social group known as the Chelsea Set’.
