NEW ACQUISITION This sofa-bed designed by Vico Magistretti has just been presented to this Museum by Mr. Walter Collins of Oscar Woollen - Interiors International. Entitled "Veranda" and designed for Cassina/Italy in 1983, this is the first production model. It has just arrived in this country from the manufacturers. The donor is director of Oscar Woollens in the Finchley Road, an establishment that has long been in the forefront in bringing to the English public some of the best examples of ultra-modern design in furniture and furnishings. Walter Collins has thereby exerted a powerful and beneficial influence on taste in this country since the War. Museum No. W.43-1984(1984)

Object history
This is the first production model to arrive in Britain. The prototype did not have the handle mechanism to raise the back. The seat is adjustable to 11 positions.
