Rumi Rock specialise in hand-crafted yukata that combine Edo-period skills and sensibilities with a gothic edge. Founded by designer Rumi Shibasaki (b.1963), Rumi Rock is proudly located in Yoshiwara, the former licensed pleasure quarters. This design is inspired by the 1969 Apollo Mission moon landing and is a feat of stencil-cutting by Shibasaki’s collaborator Kaneko Kazuaki (b.1969).
