Historical context	The sketches SD.394-SD.400 are connected with the publication The Holy Land Painted by John Fulleylove, R.I. Described by John Kelman, M.A., 1902 and with a series of watercolours and drawings exhibited at The Fine Art Society, The Holy Land from Hebron to the Lake of Galilee, March 1902 (exhibition no.246). This drawing was probably number 47A in that exhibition and was a preliminary drawing for the watercolour reproduced in Fulleylove & Kelman, Pl.60, with the title The Holy Rock Beneath The Dome Of The Mosque Of Omar. The watercolour was number18 in the exhibition.
