FABRIC SAMPLES from The Practical Mechanic's Journal 1862

This page of fabric samples shows the range of vivid colours that were displayed as innovations at the London International Exhibition of 1862. Their brightness and intensity were made possible by using new chemical dyes. Such colours rapidly became very fashionable.
