Diana, Princess of Wales, bought a version of this blouse from Vanvelden's ready to wear collection and wore it on the Royal Tour of Australia, April 1983, to an Adelaide students' disco dance, and later, in August 1983 to a polo match at Cirencester Park. (see page 260, Ascher: Fabric, Art, Fashion, V&A Publications, 1987)
