Dress designed by Mary Quant for Ginger Group in about 1969. It is made in synthetic lace with a floral design. This design, ‘Meringue’, reveals the change in Quant’s designs at the end of the 1960s as she began to use more prints and patterns in her designs. ‘Meringue’ was photographed in 1969 for marketing and press material and a copy of the photograph, with its accompanying press information, is held in Mary Quant’s archive. The press sheet states that the collection sees ‘Mary switch[es] to the sound of the ‘70s’.
