Print portrait of Ellen Terry in a production of Faust, at the Lyceum Theatre, 1885-1888. The print was produced for Pen and Pencil magazine, and has since been removed and mounted on card.
The cast included Ellen Terry as Margaret, Henry Irving as Mephistopheles, and George Alexander as Faust. The production was incredibly successful, and was performed for three years between 1885 and 1888. It also introduced launched George Alexander's career into the mainstream, and formed part of Henry Irving's run as Actor-Manager at the Lyceum.
