Object history | Paul Rodier was best known for his woven dress fabrics made from unusual yarns. He expanded into furnishing fabrics in the 1920s. |
Historical context | Paul Rodier supplied some of the textiles for the luxury liner Ile de France. One of the few manufacturers to make 'authentic' cubist fabrics, he produced some woven abstracts designed by Picasso for the interior designer Jean-Michel Frank. |
