| Object history | Rodier was well known for his woven dress fabrics made from unusual combinations of yarn. In the 1920s he expanded into furnishing fabrics. |
| Historical context | Rodier supplied some of the textiles for the luxury liner Ile de France. One of the few manufacturers to make 'authentic' cubist fabrics, Rodier produced some woven abstracts designed by Picasso for the interior designer Jean-Michel Frank. |
