Physical description | Fragment of painted and dyed cotton chintz dress fabric. With a design of floral garlands and western figures in architectural settings. One scene shows a courting couple, and the other with a hunter and spear advancing on a tiger. Each scene is framed by an ornamental balustrade embellished with flowering trees, urns, peacocks and a statue. The upper part of the dress fabric is filled with a repeating pattern of small bouquets with slender trailing flower sprays. Blue band along the selvage. |
