H. & M. Rayne were reowned for beautiful evening and shoes for special occasions. Designs could be made to order and basic white shoe were often dyed to match a customer's dress. The jewelled decoration was painstakingly applied, stone by stone, using a strong cement. Rayne held royal warrants making shoes for HM Queen Elizabeth II, HM the Queen Mother and Diana, Princess of Wales.
