JUMPER Hand-knitted cotton British: Edina and Lena, 1979. This classic round-neck long-sleeved jumper in a fancy openwork stitch, knitted in shaded stripes, is based on patterns and stitches of the 1930s. Edina Ronay and Lena Stengard's updated versions of Fair Isle, lace and raised stitch jumpers and cardigans, sometimes decorated with hand embroidery, have caught the recent mood for nostalgic and romantic fashions. This exclusively hand-knitting business currently employs almost two thousand knitters and is now run solely by Edina Ronay. T.154-1985(1985)
