Spouted Pot

1680 - 1725 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

We do not know exactly what this pot was used for, but very similar objects were made in England in the same period, for serving thick, warm drink called posset. It is possible that pots like this were made in Iran for export to Europe; merchants may have commissioned Safavid potters to copy English shapes.
