The BRIT Awards are given annually by the British Phonographic Industry and are the annual showcase for the UK music industry. They were established in 1977 and are regarded as the music equivalent of the Oscars. The statuette has been regularly redesigned by British designers, including Dame Vivienne Westwood, Damien Hirst, Dame Tracey Emin and Sir Peter Blake.

This statuette was awarded at the ceremony staged at the O2 on 22 February 2017. It was designed by the architect, Dame Zaha Hadid (1950-2016).

The BRIT Awards are presented annually by the British Phonographic Industry. They were founded in 1977 and a different designer is commissioned to design each year's award. Internationally renowned architect Dame Zaha Hadid designed the 2017 statuette in her signature style. Britannia is presented as a fluid figure swinging her hips to one side.
