Object history | Wiremu Tamihana (full name is Wiremu Tamihana Tarapipipi Te Waharoa) (approx. 1805-1866) who is known for his role in the Maori King Movement. He converted to Christianity in the 1830s and was given the Christian name William Thompson. |
