The daguerreotype plates are in a black mount with two rectangular arched windows. This is glazed in a passe-partout frame. A Negretti and Zambra label is on the verso of the frame.

Production
This daguerreotype is not laterally reversed - a prism was probably used in the daguerreotype camera to reverse the image as it was being taken.
