Stereoscopic daguerreotype of a display of sculptures at the Crystal Palace, including the statue of 'Cain et sa race maudits de Dieu' by Antoine Etex, a marble sculpture made in 1832-39 after a first version in plaster. This is now in the collection of the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. The daguerreotype plates are in a black mount with two rectangular arched windows. This is glazed in a later passe-partout frame - it was rebound in December 1981..
