Fred Pearl worked for the toy manufacturer Lines Brothers in the mid 20th century as a model maker of dolls and toys in their factory. He went on to make a wide range of models for films such as Star Wars and set up his own model making business, Art Models Ltd. producing models for further films, television, museums and exhibitions.

Physical description | Toy rhinoceros figure pattern. Dark grey moulded plastic on two red free wheels, used in the model making process, which will later be removed to complete the finished toy figure has a visible seam through the cross section of the animal where the two parts of plastic have been fixed together. The animal's body is moulded in detail with sculpted muscular forms, textured skin and facial details, including a white horn. Prototype toy. |
