WASTE NO MORE

Kibiso silk is made from the protective outer surface of silk cocoons. These fibres – coarse and difficult to use in modern machinery – are usually discarded as waste. Japanese textile design house NUNO has developed a way to process the strong fibres and use them in commercial designs such as this dress and coat.
