Place of origin |
Furnishing fabric of woven silk. Woven in red and cream silk on a black ground, with a pattern of three exotic flower heads or fan shapes with leaves springing in a triangular formation from a central stylised flower head. This is repeated in rows with the triangular motif reversed in alternate bands so that they fit together. The central flower head is repeated in the interstices. Woven as a two colour tissue with the cream and red bound on the front in 2/1 twill, on a satin ground. The length is a sample piece with plain satin ends.
