Sequins and beads on net
Writer Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball
took place in New York’s Plaza Hotel in 1966. Widely photographed, it was the celebrity event of the American social season. Couturier Mila Schön of Milan dressed two prominent clients for the ball. She designed this elaborate gown for Marella Agnelli, wife of the chairman of Fiat.
