An elephant with remnants of a now head-less mahout seizing a lion with its trunk The elephant is richly caparisoned and adorned with jewellery and bells and bears a howdah on its back. The lion is carved with massive claws and layers of mane down its neck. His eyes are bulging and his tongue hangs out as he is grasped by the elephant. The animals are set on a plinth with an apron of pendant buds between arabesque carved decoration.
