Little Inventors is a company which helps children see their imagination come to life. It encourages creativity and self-belief, it allows children to work alongside professionals and take control of the creative process. Layla Amir, from Sunderland and age 11 imagined the invention of the Shady Lamp.
This creation which took Carl Gregg, a process and product design specialist spent 80 hours realising Layla’s creation. The Shady Lamp stemmed from the idea that a dimmer switch can break. Layla’s invention uses venetian blinds to circumvent this issue, their manual use can control the light output into the room.
