St James's Theatre was designed by Samuel Beazley and built by Peto & Grisell in 1835 for the theatre director John Braham. It was designed in the neo-classical style, with a Louis XIV-style interior decorated by the Frederick Crace Company.
The theatre closed in 1957 and was demolished.
