This one of three limited edition prints of architectural drawings by César Pelli for the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; all three prints are similar, showing the twin towers in silhouette, but each print differs in the colouring of the building and background. The drawings from which the prints were created were produced an early stage of the design, made in pastel on paper, the small originals greatly enlarged when printed. The prints were made shortly after the completion of the towers in 1996 by Nash Editions a fine art digital printers, founded in 1991 by Graham Nash (of the rock band Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young) using the new IRIS Graphics 3047 inkjet printer (this printer was donated by Nash to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in 2005). Although it is common practice today for architects to have their drawings (paper and digitally-born) digitally printed for presentation, this was rarely the case when this set of Pelli prints were created.

At 88-stories in height, the Petronas Towers held the world record for a number of years as the world’s tallest structure.
