The badge was produced as memorabilia for The Beatles in 1966. It is part of a series of four pin badges produced in different colours, depicting each member of The Beatles.
The Beatles were an English rock and pop band, widely regarded as the most influencial act of the rock era. The band would experiment with different musical styles, remaining active between 1960 and 1970. The Beatles remain the best-selling band in history, with estimated sales of over 600 million records worldwide.
Paul McCartney, along with John Lennon, formed part of The Beatle's key songwriting and singing duo. After The Beatles, McCartney pursued a solo career and formed the band Wings.

The badge is made of mauve coloured plastic with a gold gilt borders on the guitar neck, headstock, body and photograph. The photograph shows John Lennon's head, smiling looking towards the camera. The badge has a brass pin for attachment, and is pinned through a card for selling the merchandise. The card is white with red text that includes 'The Fabulous Beatles Jewellery Brooch', as well as the place of production and the signatures of The Beatles band members. |
