Fred Pearl is a master model maker who initially began his career working on simple workshop projects. He later attended art college where he furthered his model making skills. His career spanned for much of the mid 20th century where he worked for Lines Brothers company (Pedigree) on such movies as Laurence of Arabia, Mutiny on the Bounty, Muppet Treasure Island and Star Wars. He went on to start his own company entitled Art Models Ltd. where he created models for film/television, architecture, exhibitions/displays, and museums. Mr. Pearl was born in East London in the Borough of Bromley-le-Bow.

Fred Pearl possibly made this mould whenwhile working for the toy manufacturer, Pedigree. The mould and parts collectively demonstrate the doll making process.
