Munich 1972 Poster from Edition Olympia 1972, third series American Pop Artist Tom Wesselmann is known for his stylised, glossy images of still lives and nudes. In the early 1970s he began focusing on a few details of the body, such as hands, feet and breasts, investing them with a symbolic life of their own. Here, the monumental foot has a powerful, slightly humorous, 'in-your-face' presence. 1971 Tom Wesselmann (1931-2004) Colour offset lithograph Given by the Organising Committee for the Games of the XX Olympiad V&A: E.360-1972(2008)
