Luigi Lablache (1794-1858) was an Italian operatic bass singer. His first performance in London was at the Kings Theatre on 30th March 1830, in the role of Geronimo in Il Matrimonio Segreto by Domenico Cimarosa. His popularity engaged him annually in London for the summer seasons, and in April 1836 began to give regular singing lessons to Queen Victoria.
