Bears are traditionally associated with Germany both as real animals and as toys. Carved wooden bears were popular in the nineteenth century and Germany is the home of the teddy bear. The first jointed plush bear was made by the Steiff company in 1902.

Physical description
Small dark brown toy bear in sitting position. Made of fabric covered moulded foam. Black eyes and nose and a red tongue have been painted on. Bear's fur is short and velvety.
