The print was published in The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News on March 18th, 1882. The print shows Romeo, played by Henry Irving in a dark coloured embroidered tunic with lightly coloured tights, he is leaning over onto the balcony with his arms around Juliet, leaning to kiss her. Juliet, played by Ellen Terry, is standing on the other side of the balcony wearing a long white dress and has her arms around Romeo. On the left side of the print is Mrs Stirling as The Nurse wearing a dark dress with a ruffed white collar and a beaded crucifix necklace. |
