Brief description | White cashmere sweater and black leather trousers |
Physical description | White cashmere sweater with polo neck and long sleeves; black leather trousers with hip yoke fitted with straps and buckles. |
Production type | Ready to wear |
Credit line | Worn and given by the Countess of Avon |
Object history | The label inside these trousers suggests that the inteded front was the buckle side as opposed to the pockets side. The label is attached at the same side as the pockets. However, the shape of the garment suggests that the trousers were worn the other way around, which is how they have been photographed. |
Production | Trousers first designed about 1955 and continued in production until around 1965 |
