Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
Tall cuboid container made from lithographed tinplate. The design resembles the fictional vehicle, TARDIS: an old-fashioned police telephone box, with panelled doors and small rectangular windows. On the front of the tin is shown the actor Tom Baker, standing in one of the opened doors, dressed as his iteration of the fictional character Dr. Who, wearing a long overcoat, pale tweed waistcoat and knitted striped scarf. The lid is hinged and it opens backwards from the image of The Doctor. The top of the lid has some pressed decoration: a round-cornered square with a central circular bump, the latter of which is surrounded by a print of a white flare, to represent a flashing light.
