Bill Gibb launched his own label in the early 1970s, with instant success. This Inuit-inspired jacket displays his interest in the dress of other cultures and is typical of his tendency to mix contemporary design with ethnic references. Gibb often used elaborate trimmings and knitted details, such as the knit lining to the hood that was designed and created by Kaffe Fasset, with whom he often collaborated.
